Our J/80 Sportboat Track is designed for sailors who want to learn on one of the world’s premier modern performance keelboats from their very first lesson. Rather than progressing through multiple boats, you will build confidence and mastery on a single platform throughout the core curriculum.

Most sailing schools teach students on several different boats as they progress through their training. Every change means learning a new cockpit layout, sail plan, deck hardware, handling characteristics, and operating system.
Our philosophy is different.
From Basic Keelboat 1 through Basic Keelboat 2, Basic Coastal Cruising, the High Wind Endorsement, and ultimately J/80 bareboat charter privileges, you remain aboard the same modern J/80.

Platform Mastery Does Not End with the J/80.
After earning your High Wind Endorsement and J/80 charter privileges, you can continue your progression aboard our J/105 for Bareboat Cruising.
Because both boats share the J/Boats design philosophy and responsive sailing characteristics, the transition feels natural.
