Charter pre-requisites: 2 charters as Captain of Record + 10 points

Schedule: Weekends

Boat we use: J/80

J/80

The J/80 is a versatile sailboat, capable of delivering exhilarating rides at 15 knots under spinnaker as well as serene sunset cruises with only the mainsail. According to Sailing World, the J/80 is easier to handle, less intimidating, safer, and better suited for offshore sailing compared to other modern sportboats.

J/80s are now sailed in 30 fleets across 12 countries, with significant presence in North America, Europe, and China.

You'll need to have good wet weather gear by the time you get to this class. Foulies are a must as we'll be sailing in the central portion of SF Bay where the winds can gust to 30+ knots and the Bay Chop build to 5+ feet.
