The Intermediate Coastal Cruising Class is designed for graduates of the Basic Coastal Cruising program who want to qualify for chartering sailboats up to 35 feet at Spinnaker Sailing. This class offers students a chance to sail a J/105 in the Central Bay near Angel Island, Alcatraz etc. Graduates of this course are eligible to apply for the ASA's International Proficiency Certificate. This certificate is required for chartering in most European and Mediterranean waters and serves as proof of bareboat charter competency. Many Mediterranean chartering companies require the proficiency information to be presented differently than what is listed in the ASA Log Book. Obtaining the IPC at the end of the ASA 104 class grants access to charter fleets worldwide. Additionally, earning the ASA 105: Coastal Navigation certification is highly recommended for those who wish to expand their chartering opportunities globally
