- Go Sailing on our Club Sails - Get points, make new friends and build your experience.
Step 2: Earn Your First Certification
- Take the ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing Written Exam
Step 3: Coastal Cruising Skills
- ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising
- Take the ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising Written Exam
- Once you pass, you can charter Andrews 21s
Step 4: Gain Experience with Bareboat Charters
- Complete two bareboat charters on Andrews 21 (South of Bay Bridge) and earn 10 points
- Optional: Bareboat charter on Santana 22 (South of Bay Bridge)
- Accrue 10 More Experience Points
Step 5: Sportboat Certification
- ASA 102 Sportboat Certification Class – Learn to sail the J/80
- Take the ASA 102 Sportboat Written Exam
- Complete two bareboat charters on J/80 (South of Bay Bridge) and earn 10 points
- Accrue 10 More Experience Points
Step 6: Mastering High Wind Sailing
Step 7: Advanced Navigation Skills
- ASA 105 Coastal Navigation – Self-paced online class
- Take the ASA 105 Coastal Navigation Written Exam
Step 8: Expand Your Bareboat Experience
- Complete two bareboat charters on J/80 (North of Bay Bridge) and earn 10 points
- Accrue 10 More Experience Points
Step 9: Bareboat Cruising & Docking Mastery
- ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising (35’ boat) – Includes ASA 118c Inboard Diesel Docking
- Take the ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising Exam and the ASA 118 Docking Exam
- Join Timeshare Sailing, Buy a Boat or ??
Step 10: Get Internationally Certified
- Apply for the International Certificate of Competence (up to 50’)
